“Our choice to cover Bratmobile’s “Gimme Brains” stems from its vibrant surf-rock vibe and its rich feminist undertones. Since the inception of Girlbossanova, we’ve drawn immense inspiration from the sounds and ideologies of the riot grrrl movement. The track’s upbeat, playful instrumentals belie a deeper layer of incisive lyrics that resonate with every female musician who’s ever been underestimated or sidelined."
